Shell checkpoint

This is the first checkpoint after replacing the earlier CMS experiments.

The front page now does exactly what it should:

  • newest posts stay at the top
  • the calendar acts like the index surface
  • the rest of the site behaves like a calm little publishing system instead of a giant app

First public log entry after the Statamic rebuild, written to prove out the new homepage stack and feed cadence.

Calendar-first holds the whole site together

The journal feed gives texture.

The calendar gives structure.

That combination is what finally made the rebuild stop feeling like another generic CMS theme and start feeling like a real public diary.

The archive calendar is not decoration. It is the quickest way to understand how the publishing rhythm is working.

The key test was simple:

Could the homepage still feel calm when there were enough posts for the archive to matter?

That answer is yes, as long as the calendar stays blunt and the feed cards stay readable.

Early pass at proving the new shell still works when the feed starts stretching across multiple weeks and months.
